Nicole Gonzalez is a textile artist and designer using recycled, found, or low impact materials. She received her BA in Studio Art from UC San Diego. In 2014, she founded Inca Colors, a slow knitwear company partnering with fair trade artisans in Peru.
Nicole is interested in the use of covert visual messages (color coding and various forms of pictograms), Andean symbolism (quipus and cosmological iconography), and the performative + sociological + economic + political aspects of clothing.
